Inspiration

We have never had real trouble with making it to class on time, but it always feels so tiring to get out of bed. We thought it would be great to have something that made it harder for us to go back to sleep after the time we want to wake up at.

What it does

Opens blinds at a set time, rings alarm that can only be turned off by scanning a key card.

How we built it

A box with gears that mesh with the blind cord is connected to some motors that can pull up and pull down the blinds. This is connected to Blynk so the user can control the blinds. We have a RFID scanner that we can connect to our Penn cards, which is needed to turn off an alarm. We 3D printed most parts

Challenges we ran into

The blind cord was hard to get to mesh with the gears. We are not good coders so we struggled a little bit there.
