Inspiration
Each year I create a fun, offbeat project for my wife for Valentines day. This contest inspired the idea to automate Valentines day.
What it does
The program is simple. With the press of a button, it generates everything needed for Valentines day. It comes up with plans, a thoughtful gift, and more. It even includes a little joke. The idea is that it's an all in one package for a full Valentines day.
I used this project in a goofy, fun way, but realistically this has practical usage for people struggling with the creativity and romance of coming up with these things. Following the plan for the day, cherry picking from the thoughtful gifts and "love coupons", and sharing the best of the animated valentines cards would absolutely lead to a great Valentines day for the person they're sharing it with.
How we built it
I wanted to make a point to use sponsors of the Hackathon and reverse engineered the idea accordingly. I used Kilo Code to create the program itself, which used You.com for AI content generation and Foxit for the document generation and PDF services. I wanted to add just a bit more so I generated some animated valentines day cards and included them in the program. I also added in Deepgram functionality such that if you touch/click a section of the page (like the joke, for example), it will read it to you with text to speech. Please note that I added this in after showcasing the project in the demo video.
The End
This was a for-fun project, but I can absolutely see it helping someone out there create a legitimately nice Valentines day. This also felt like a good showcase of what Kilo Code, You.com, Foxit, and Deepgram can do and how they can work together, so hopefully someone out there enjoys the work and the project.
