Automated Job Searcher

Inspiration

Because of COVID, millions of people have been unemployed for the past few months. Right now, as students, we are trying to find internships and we realize how stressful and time consuming it is to go on each job search site and type in the same keywords over again every day. The frustration we experienced inspired us to create this tool to automate job searching steps and reduce the repetitive tasks so we can save more time for other tasks like building resumes and cover letters.

What it does

This tool automates job searching based on user input. A second part of the tool is it populates a list of the newest active computer science postings for the user.

How we built it

We built it using UiPath Studio Pro. UiPath is fantastic for automating website visits and data scraping.

Challenges we ran into

Not all websites are built for data scraping. We also had some trouble creating cells for important information for certain job sites.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were successfully able to pull specific types of jobs and locations we want. The list of job postings it generates also includes the links to each job postings and they are modifiable.
