Inspiration
Most girls in schools especially poor areas, tend to miss classes due to lack of sanitary pads, food, and many other issues. In most cases, the donors come and go, and they sometimes can not be traced to come back and help again. This is what has led to the creation of an automated donation platform.
What it does
The platform connects donors with various charities which they can browse and choose on which to donate to. The needy charities are then encouraged to send applications which will be approved by the platform admin if its eligible for donors to see. The approved charities can then login to and update their user stories and beneficiaries these will encourage the donors to donate as they will be able to see how their funds will be used.
How we built it
The project is built with ReactJs(Front-end) and Python, Flask-sqlachemy for back-end.
Challenges we ran into
Back-end crashing, Front-end and back-end integration.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
M-pesa integration within the app. The app being functional.
What we learned
Determination and consistency is key.
What's next for AUTOMATED DONATION PLATFORM
If there any improvements to be done, we can do them. and my wish is to make this app a real-worl patform to be used and impact the world.
