Inspiration
The inspiration came from the constant need to create comments for all my methods in my recent Object oriented programming project. I used a tool initially that generated formatted comments but that only included parameters, returns and throws and not the actual function of the method. To make my comment creation faster I figured that i could use AI to create the entire comment.
What it does
It takes in what language you're using and your code and passes it through Gemini who then returns the code with formatted comments describing what it inferred was the function of the method .
How we built it
It was built with medo just by giving it my idea for the app, it then determined the requirements and built the app for me.
What's next for Automated code comment generator
Most likely implement more languages and account for alternative formats for comments since the current AI prompt specifically asks for javadoc style comments
