Inspiration

Electricity bills for classroom lights are astronomical, we could use the sun's natural light instead.

What it does

Controls blinds on windows automatically to keep a consistent ambient light level.

How I built it

I used arduino open source hardware and software to transform this idea into a rough prototype.

Challenges I ran into

Working with limited materials, learning the scripts necessary to control the motor and read the sensors, developing and working through the logic.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

It at least partially working.

What I learned

Rapid prototyping in 24 hrs is difficult without proper time management.

What's next for Automated blinds

Implementing more planned features and then off to classrooms with windows everywhere.
