AUTOMATED ATTENDANCE SYSTEM USING OPEN COMPUTER VISION

To change the prospective of marking attendance in manual way to fully automated way by not wasting the resources like paper and time.

Inspiration

The inspiration came from the general or manual attendance system going on each lecture in different subjects in school, colleges and institutes and professor is wasting almost 10-15mins of marking attendance of students in a classroom.

What it does

Its will mark the attendance of students by recognizing their faces in the classroom with any proxy concept and wasting of any resource.

How we built it

we built it by using python open computer vision with the IDE using pycharm to convert the manual system into automated.

Challenges we ran into

Challenges we ran into are the installation of libraries like dlib and face recognition in windows system in pycharm and some accurency part as well.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Accomplishments that we are proud of is to complete our project on time by learning new language as python opencv and build an basic automation system for attendance.

What we learned

We learned python and opencv with different aspects of it and created the dataset and recognition part also the automation in it with spreadsheet as well.

What's next for AUTOMATED ATTENDANCE SYSTEM USING OPEN COMPUTER VISION

So this is a general project of automation but further we are trying to use IOT or Rasberry to create a device which marks the attendance of each and every student with finest accuracy. Also Face API gives us 99% accuracy rate to recognition a student.
