Hearing complains about the Toilet seat,
- It's not put Down!
- Ahh!! Can you please use it properly?
- Oh my gawd enough!

Tired of hearing this ? Yes We were too! That's why We Automated it !
What it does
It Automatically opens and closes the toilet seat, no interaction needed at all!

How we built it
We used a microcontroller board that one of our dads bought us last month, and two servos that we had in our cupboard storage. We connected them with an IR Sensor (that came with the microcontroller board) and inserted the code into the board to carry out the process via an USB cable. Then we setup the hardware to make the Proof Of Concept and test it out before making an actual Prototype.
Design:
An IR Sensor is placed at the door, So it can detect people coming in / going out via the door passage. It then based on the door movement, signals the servo motors to start. The servos regulate the Toilet seat up and down.
Challenges we ran into
While we have worked with motors and hardware before, we are just getting started with Microcontrollers. So It took us a while to write the code, the setup also required trouble shooting, but was comparatively easy. Luckily we managed to get all this done in time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating and testing the Proof Of Concept successfully.
What we learned
This project helped us gain confidence by successfully building a useful project to automate my toilet using a microcontroller board. Now we also learned that Anything can be automated !
What's next for Automate Toilet
Now that we have tested and been successful, we plan to build a bigger prototype compatible with the household Toilets, and automate them!
