Inspiration
It is a significant problem in Indian households; if solved, it can help save a considerable amount of electricity, benefiting the planet and saving money. in a research it was found that approximately 20 to 30% of electricity is wasted in an average Indian household.
What it does
It helps conserve electricity and automates households by making all appliances smart.
How we built it
We developed the hardware using sensors and a microcontroller, integrating it with voice assistants. Additionally, we linked it with the Arduino IoT Cloud, allowing users to control household devices with just a tap of a finger.
Challenges we ran into
We faced a few challenges linking it with the voice assistant and enabling comprehensive control over all devices. Another challenge was adding smart tiles while making the solution cost-effective compared to similar models available online.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are really proud of completing everything on time and making the solution both advanced and user-friendly.
What we learned
We learned the importance of teamwork and effective time management to complete tasks efficiently and on schedule.
What's next for AutoMate
Next for AutoMate, we aim to enable more devices to make them smarter and further enhance energy efficiency. We also plan to improve sensor accuracy to ensure reliability and precision.
