Inspiration

Autoimmune diseases are some of the most complicated diseases known in medical world. Many kind of them have the same symptoms and manifestations which make diagnosing autoimmune diseases much more harder. This is especially true for medical student alike, which with the limited knowledge they have, struggle to understand the world of autoimmune disease. The goal of this project was to leverage AI technology to assist medical students in improving the accuracy and efficiency of autoimmune diagnosis.

What it does

Our project offers Perplexity AI as a powerful tool that aids medical students in diagnosing autoimmune conditions more effectively, enhancing patient care. We also highlighting the downsides of using this tool so that medical students can make wise, informed decision.

How we built it

We done lots of trial and error in searching for the perfect prompt to use Perplexity AI.

Challenges we ran into

As noted above, autoimmune diseases have lots of similar manifestations and symptoms. Creating a prompt that can effectively differentiate between each of them is far from easy. We also note that some autoimmune (Such as myastenia gravis and multiple sclerosis) are still far from having the perfect prompt due to this similarity in manifestations and symptoms.

We're proud of creating a valuable project that empowers medical students and enhances autoimmune diagnosis, contributing to improved patient outcomes.

What we learned

During this project, we learned the significance of AI in healthcare and the potential it holds for transforming the medical field. We also learn the not-so-perfect side of AI, especially in the realm of autoimmune diseases.

What's next for Autoimmune Diagnosis with PerplexityAI for Medical Student

In the future, we aim to broaden the cover of our project. Makin more effective prompt for more types of autoimmune diseases.
