Inspiration

In modern software engineering, backend systems, database schemas, and external APIs evolve rapidly. A single unexpected update—such as a modified database column name, a changed JSON key type, or a shifted API contract—can cause critical production pipelines to crash, leading to severe downtime and manual firefighting. We wanted to eliminate this operational bottleneck by introducing true agentic resilience.

What it does

AutoHeal-Agent is an autonomous Python-based AI agent designed to monitor, detect, and self-heal runtime schema drifts and API response mismatches. When a service encounters a breaking data contract shift or schema error, AutoHeal-Agent intercepts the failure, analyzes the structural divergence using advanced LLM intelligence, generates an accurate code patch, and dynamically adapts the execution flow or submits an automated fix patch.

How we built it

  • Core Engine: Built in Python, leveraging robust structured parsing and exception handling.
  • AI Intelligence: Powered by advanced Large Language Models via API integration to interpret runtime error stacks and data schema discrepancies.
  • Architecture: Designed as a modular CLI utility that simulates live data ingestion, catches runtime contract mismatches, and executes automated self-healing patches without human intervention.

Challenges we ran into

  • Handling ambiguous error logs and determining the exact delta between expected and actual data structures.
  • Crafting reliable prompt engineering logic to ensure the AI generates syntax-valid, safe, and precise code fixes rather than generic text output.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successfully transforming a theoretical concept into a working, autonomous self-healing agent loop.
  • Creating a robust solution that tackles a genuine, high-cost enterprise pain point (Schema Drift) with zero manual overhead.

What we learned

We gained profound insights into agentic autonomy, stateful error recovery, and how LLMs can act as active code maintainers rather than passive text generators.

What's next for AutoHeal-Agent

  • Integrating real-time webhook listeners for live PostgreSQL and REST API monitoring.
  • Expanding automated Pull Request (PR) generation directly into GitHub repositories upon successful patch verification. ## How we built it
