AutoGuardian App
Inspiration
StateFarm's challenge sparked our interest to create a tool for vehicle maintenance. One of our team members recently got their first car and didn't know much about upkeep. We realized many people, like our friend, could benefit from a simple app that assists them.
What We Learned
React Native and Supabase were entirely new territories for us. Adapting to these tools was an enlightening part of our project. Transitioning to mobile app development was a fresh experience, differing notably from our usual web development ventures.
How We Built Our Project
We kickstarted with brainstorming, deciding the core features of our app. Aiming for a user-friendly interface, we began crafting using React Native. Supabase was our choice for backend services, simplifying our data management. Tools like GitHub were indispensable for our code organization and collaboration.
Challenges We Faced
Choosing an appropriate backend service was challenging. Our initial pick was Firebase, but its compatibility with React Native wasn't as we'd hoped. Consequently, we transitioned to Supabase, which required some rework. Adapting to mobile development presented its own hurdles, especially in hunting for the right libraries and tools.
