Inspiration
We wanted to build something at the interface of robotics and human care. We were inspired by the keynote speeches that discussed how robots could be used in place of human workers for dangerous work. We built it using 80/20s for the frame, and Python and Rasberry Pi to code it. We ran into challenges debugging the code and and fitting the motor into frame. Using different materials complicated the process since the 80/20s did not have the ideal hole alignment to attach everything. Initial attempts were made to cad motor mounts but at the end we decided to use a press fit to hold everything together. On the software side, setting up the video stream proved to be difficult. Our final project was a remote operated car with live video streaming capable of small delivery.
