Inspiration

My brother runs 2 faceless Instagram pages which have 50k+ followers, I saw the process he uses to create and edit the videos, it takes almost 1 hour to make 1 reel, I thought this whole process could be automated where he has to give a prompt of an Idea and rest AI can do, this helped me reach to this Idea

What it does

You give a style and prompt to the app, and the app creates a full 1-2 minute story video based on the prompt and style with a voiceover, you can download or post it directly to Tiktok, Instagram or YouTube Shorts.

How we built it

I did the following

  1. Came up with a basic idea which I wanted to pursue
  2. Did some market research if something of this type is in demand, I saw some demand from apps on web but not much on Mobile
  3. Timeboxed myself for 48 hours to a working MVP which takes an input and returns a Story with a voiceover
  4. Timeboxed for another 48 hours to also stitch images on the story
  5. After 3 days I had a working prototype which I shared with my wife and polished it a bit for next 6-7 days before submitting on app store.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was to edit the video and download it, as it took some time to perfect, and the rendering was not so easy, I uploaded everything to AWS lambda to render when the user requested.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Very proud of how quickly I was able to develop and publish it in the app store, I shared the stories created from the app with some of my friends which were custom-made on their life stories, and they loved it.

What we learned

  • I learned a lot about building AI pipelines
  • I learned how to optimise to create an MVP, removing everything unnecessary and just keep the main USP.

What's next for AutoAIReels

I want to grow this app to be a video creation platform with the use of AI, not just stories, I want to add publishing any kind of video which can be enhanced with the use of AI, scheduling it as well for multiple platforms.
