AutoAid – AI-Powered Roadside Assistance

AutoAid is an AI-powered roadside assistance system that helps drivers in India during emergencies like breakdowns, flat tyres, or running out of fuel. Instead of calling multiple helplines, AutoAid uses agentic AI to understand the driver’s issue, detect their location, and automatically connect them with the nearest available service provider.

Workflow

  1. User reports an issue through the chatbot on our demo website.
  2. The AI agent understands the problem and urgency.
  3. The system searches a mock database for the nearest service provider.
  4. The driver gets a confirmation with ETA and service details.

Tech + Approach

We built the prototype using simple web technologies and a mock database, keeping it beginner-friendly. At the same time, we designed it in a way that can scale with IBM Granite models and the Agent Development Kit (ADK) for more advanced workflows.

Why it matters

This project focuses on solving a very common, India-specific issue: delays in roadside help. With AutoAid, we want to:

  • Reduce waiting times for roadside assistance
  • Improve road safety with quicker responses
  • Provide a scalable solution that can expand to accidents, ambulance services, and insurance workflows
