Inspiration

We are fascinated with how simple it is to program with Arduino and we would like to see what we can do with Arduino. On a workshop we attended we see someone built a car using Arduino and we want to build a car that can do more than that of his. the

What it does

It can be controlled using a phone and can detect coins on the ground. The image can be transmitted to the computer so that we can not only know where the coin is but also when to detour.

How we built it

We bought the base of the car and programmed Arduino to control the car. We connected the car to a smartphone using Bluetooth and "drive" it using the phone. We used the camera of the smartphone to continually take pictures of the ground and transmit the pictures back to the computer via wifi. We process the pictures to detect coins using OpenCV.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges include how to steer the robot car, how to transmit pictures to the computer, how to detect coins.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We managed to build the robot car and the car is able to detect coins on its way.

What's next for Auto Robot Car

We want to add a electric magnet on the robot car so that it can pick up the coins it detects.
