Inspiration: It was an idea that was brought up in a brainstorming session that won the decision matrix.
What it does: The prototype mailbox locks itself after a package is put inside to prevent theft.
How we built it: We used a soda can box as the shell with smaller cardboard pieces, along with tape to create a door.
Challenges we ran into: Learning Arduino code since it was new to us as well as overcoming hardware limitations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We are proud of how far we were able to take this concept despite it being our first Profhacks, and learning a new code.
What we learned: We learned that not every time we will get it right, but as long as we stick to it and learn for our mistakes we can make a prototype that will succeed.
What's next for Auto-Locking Mailbox: Continuing to improve our product, and making a fully functional and stylish prototype.
