Inspiration

We were inspired by the fact that so many people use the AITA subreddit these days, and many of us feel like we could use an AITA-checker in our personal lives. However, it can be daunting and humiliating to share your AITA post to the public, so we came up auto-AITA.

What it does

Auto-AITA is a webpage where you can paste your AITA story into a search engine and receive an evaluation on whether you are the asshole or not.

How we built it

We developed this website using React and Typescript.

Challenges we ran into

2/3 team members have no coding knowledge, and connecting the functions we wanted with the appropriate code was a hurdle we experienced today.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our website functions, with witty aspects like What Would Jesus Do? And 2/3 members tried coding today!

What we learned

2/3 members of our group utilized Figma, while 1/3 learned to combine a vector database with cross-encoding to increase semantic accuracy.

What's next for Auto-AITA

Given additional time and budget, we would like to implement a feature that allows you to view how much potential karma you can gain from posting your draft, and view revised version of your post that ensures you are NTA!
