What inspired the story of Aurum started in early University days when the founder encountered challenges in productivity as well as immersing himself with campus culture. The learning versus campus culture shift caused a lot of confusion with regards to navigating and balancing the study and social life. Applications that were offered to aid in bridging this gap often have limited functionality and are complex.

Aurum not only has a simple and seamless User Interface but caters to the needs of students, for example notetaking(which saves a lot of time and tedious hard work). Aurum also has features like an easy to use to do list for daily reminders, setting goals and optimizing productivity.

The application uses vanilla code using HTML and CSS with a robust Django backend. We have integrated Gemini API to prompt keywords for automated lecture & sticky note generation.

We ran into some challenges regarding the timeframe as we registered late, using and understanding the API documentation was a task that we were able to conclude after a few days. Our main challenge was trying to build and test many features that we forfeited.

We designed a simple but beautiful user interface and the API integration we mastered to produce a small but seamless application.

The project contributed to an amazing learning opportunity we wouldn't trade for anything, from using Gemini API, learning about environment variables we gained a rich amount of knowledge.

We intend to use Gemini AI prompting to generate notes based on documents, images and other media forms. We will then split the lecture notes into various categories, build a community to enforce peer to peer learning and add a safety feature to help students navigate their various campuses safely by means of sharing their ETA at all times. In future we intend to add features that aid in avoiding risk factors such as traffic, delay to lectures as well as campus stampedes by informing our users using real time monitoring.
