To help universities in federally underfunded areas

What it does

Helps HR managers shift their teams to other locations by looking at the real cost of moving their teams to those locations and having teams stay at locations across the US

How we built it

Created a text-based interface using java.

Challenges we ran into

2 team members leaving us right after team formation ended. Having minimal experience with programming. Leaning Tableau in just a few hours to analyze data.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

An accounting major and a math major creating a technical project.

What we learned

It's possible to learn a new skill for a project. We are capable of stretching ourselves to solve a problem.

What's next for Aurora

We feel this is a tool that needs to be created to help companies lower their cost and improve employee satisfaction. It could also make companies and employees wealthier and have a better quality of life. This indirectly benefits the universities in those locations. If there is a lot of company presence in those locations, the quality of education in those states would improve. This could also be used as a tool where companies could let universities know what skills they would need in the future and also donate to underfunded universities as a part of corporate social responsibility, thus improving the quality of education.
