About the project

I have always been a passionate musician, but this project marks my very first deep dive into the world of AI tools. Before starting, I had no prior experience with AI-based music, image generation, concept creation, or video production. What began as curiosity quickly turned into one of the most exciting creative journeys I’ve ever taken.

Inspiration

Music has always been the place where my ideas come alive. When I discovered how AI could expand the boundaries of creativity, I felt inspired to create something that blended my musical identity with new technology. From that spark, the concept of my AI K-pop band AURORA and their debut song “Crown on Me” was born.

What it does

The project brings an entirely AI-assisted virtual K-Pop performance to life. It combines: AI-generated music to craft the melody, structure, and emotional tone. AI character design to visually create each member of AURORA. AI concept development to shape their world, personalities, and artistic direction. AI-assisted video production to assemble the final music video for “Crown on Me.” The result is a fully digital, multimedia experience: a fusion of sound, storytelling, and visual art created through human imagination and AI tools working together

How I built it

I built this project by combining multiple AI systems:

  • generating visuals for my characters
  • creating the musical foundation
  • crafting the overarching artistic concept
  • assembling the final music video

It was a step-by-step process of testing, adjusting, learning, and discovering new approaches on the fly.

Challenges we ran into

Even though the tools were intuitive, the real challenge was translating the exact ideas in my mind into precise prompts. Something that cost me many hours of sleep, nerves, and patience. But once I started to understand how to “speak AI,” the process became incredibly fun and unbelievably addictive.

Accomplishments that I am proud of

Finding the right prompts: As a musician, I always have a very specific image or emotion in my head. Communicating that to an AI system was surprisingly difficult and required countless iterations.

Learning many tools in a short time: I had to teach myself image creation, music generation, and video editing all at once.

Maintaining artistic coherence: Ensuring that the music, visuals, concept, and video all fit together as one world took careful planning and consistency.

Patience: AI gives fast results, but good results require refinement, experimentation, and lots of reworking.

What I learned

I learned more in this project than I ever expected:

  • how to express creative ideas clearly and precisely
  • how to use AI tools for music, images, and video
  • how to build a full multimedia concept from the ground up
  • how iterative and technical creativity can be
  • that patience is just as important as inspiration

The biggest lesson: AI doesn’t replace creativity... it expands it!

What's next for AURORA "Crown on me"

This project was only the beginning. I’m excited to continue developing AURORA’s story, creating new songs, exploring animation, and experimenting with even more advanced techniques. I already have ideas for future tracks, concepts, and visual worlds. I had so much joy making this music video and I can’t wait to create the next one.
