Inspiration
a web3 social network inspired by lens protocol on the aurora
Why a web3 social network?
Because we want to really own our profile, publications, and followers, and yeah it helps us to easily work with money.
Why aurora?
Because it’s fast and cheap, simple.
What can you do with it
Create your profile Follow other users Charge people for following you) Publish post Comment on post Collect people’s posts as NFT Mirror user’s posts
Tokenomics
There is a Token in the system called Stars. Its utility is that users can use stars to make their publication global or they can consume it to go up in the leaderboard
Users can either buy these stars from free markets since it’s a normal ERC20 with decimal 1 or they can farm it in an auction that will be held every 30 minutes.
The profit from these auctions will go to develop the system further
How we built it
We’re using: Next.js, apollo.js, Subgraph, hardhat, openzepplin, and solidity. Hub: It’s the entry point of Aurogram, it’s an ERC721 that will be used to create profiles. Whenever users create a profile it uses an OZ clone mechanism to create Follow and Publication contracts. Follow: It’s a Voting enabled ERC721 token so users can follow users and get an NFT to prove it. It can be used to do lots of cool features in the future. Publications: It’s an ERC1155 contract that will create publications as a template that users can collect as NFT. It will also allow users to comment on and mirror posts. Stars: It’s an ERC20 utility token that can help users to become more recommended or post global stuff.
Challenges we ran into
Finding a business model for a social network that is decentralized was pretty hard. Also creating a seamless UI in the web3 space is pretty hard as well.
What's next for Aurogram
We’re going to add subscriber features, and a content gating system using LitProtocol, Then we would test this thoroughly and get ready to launch.
