Inspiration

The inspiration for this project was the TouchNGo Go+ investment wallet, where if you store your money into Go+, it will generate returns by funneling the funds into Principal e-Cash, which is a Money Market Fund. We thought of ways on how to make investments more accessible and to promote financial inclusion so as to provide a way for the less fortunate to invest.

What it does

We came up with an API that provides 2 features:

Micro Investment Roboadvisor This feature uses machine learning to identify optimal investments and automate the process of investing. The process of micro investments is utilized through rounding up each customer transaction and funneling the excess amount into the Roboadvisor to optimize and automate investments. This provides an easy and accessible way for consumers to invest, eliminating the time to research on investments which we have identified as one of the obstacles for a consumer to invest.

Personalized Financial Management This feature uses predictive behavioral analytics to analyze the consumer's expenses and find underlying patterns of excessive spending unbeknownst to the consumer. The identification of overspending patterns is then notified to the user and the user can hypothesize the cause of excessive spending with his daily routine. This feature utilizes gamification to further incentivize the user to reduce consumption and reduce the average spending for a given timeframe (e.g. daily or monthly).
