Inspiration

There are almost 44 million American individuals (18.07%) who suffer from a mental illness. As compared to the 2015 survey, which discovered that 18.19% of individuals had a mental health condition, this actually reflects a little decline. Youth mental health issues are becoming more prevalent, and 62% of children and adolescents who experience significant depressive episodes go untreated. This served as the impetus for us to create the relaxing website: AuraMood.

What it does

Whether you are tired, anxious, lonely, happy or sad, AuroMood has the perfect content for you! If you are feeling stressed, watch a movie that makes you laugh. If you are feeling lonely, we suggest a heart-warming TV series. If you are feeling happy, listen to a feel-good song! AuroMood is the perfect way to relax and unwind after a long day. With our Mood Selector, you can find content that is guaranteed to improve your mood!

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS and JavaScript to build our project. The design was built using Figma.

Challenges we ran into

It was difficult for us to coordinate due to different timezone availability, but we eventually managed to overcome that challenge. Other challenges we faced were related to the technology we were using, as we had to learn how to use new software in order to create the website. However, we were able to successfully overcome those challenges and create a functioning website.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the fact that we were able to build the AuraMood project in such a short period of time. We believe that this project will help people to better understand and control their moods. With the help of this project, people will be able to improve their mental health and well-being.

What we learned

We learnt to use new technologies and learnt about some statistics related to mental health, such as the fact that one in four people will experience a mental health problem at some point in their lives. We think that AuraMood has the potential to be really beneficial for people with mental health problems, as it could help them to track their moods and see if there are any patterns or triggers that make their symptoms worse.

What's next for AuraMood

AuraMood has plans to grow in the future and become a more comprehensive resource for people who want to improve their mood and well-being. The website will continue to be updated with new content and features, and we plan to add more tools and resources to help people live happier, healthier lives. Some of the tools include a daily check-in system, a mood tracker, and a forum for people to connect with others who are working on similar goals.
