Inspiration
Modern knowledge work is fragmented across dozens of flat-screen tools — notes, tasks, documents, and AI assistants. Constant context switching increases cognitive load and slows execution.
At the same time, spatial computing and AI are advancing rapidly, yet most productivity workflows remain trapped in 2D interfaces.
We asked a simple question:
What if your thoughts, tasks, and AI assistants could live around you in real space — and respond instantly to your pen?
Aura was born from this vision: a true spatial second brain powered by Logitech MX Ink.
What it does
Aura is an agentic mixed-reality workspace that allows users to capture, organize, and execute work directly in their physical environment using the MX Ink stylus.
With Aura, users can:
- Write notes naturally in the air or on surfaces
- Anchor knowledge objects in real space
- Tap notes to expand them into AI-powered tasks
- Use stylus gestures to trigger workflows
- Organize work spatially for faster recall
- Interact with embedded AI assistants
Aura transforms passive note-taking into an active, spatial execution system.
How we built it
For this concept phase, Aura is designed as a modular mixed-reality architecture optimized for Meta Quest and Logitech MX Ink.
The system design includes:
- MX Ink precision input layer for spatial writing
- Mixed Reality anchoring system for persistent objects
- Gesture interpretation layer for stylus commands
- AI orchestration layer for agentic expansion
- Cloud persistence for cross-session memory
We focused heavily on hardware-native interaction design and a scalable architecture that can evolve into a production-ready platform.
Challenges we ran into
Key challenges included:
- Designing interactions that feel truly native to spatial computing rather than ported from 2D workflows
- Ensuring the MX Ink stylus provides meaningful value beyond simple drawing
- Balancing powerful AI automation with intuitive user control
- Creating a system that can scale from individual productivity to team collaboration
These constraints pushed us to rethink productivity from first principles.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are especially proud of:
- Designing an agentic spatial workflow instead of a passive MR whiteboard
- Creating gesture-driven interactions that highlight MX Ink precision
- Building a clear path from idea capture to executable workflows
- Aligning the product with real knowledge worker pain points
- Crafting a scalable long-term vision beyond the prototype
Aura represents a meaningful step toward spatial-native productivity.
What we learned
Through building Aura we learned:
- Spatial computing requires rethinking workflows from the ground up
- Pen precision unlocks far more than drawing when paired with AI
- Persistent spatial memory reduces cognitive load significantly
- The future of productivity will blend physical space with intelligent agents
- Hardware-native UX is critical for mixed reality adoption
These insights strongly shaped Aura’s direction.
What's next for Aura
