💡 Inspiration
We wanted to create something simple, practical, and impactful using just Vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The idea behind AURA (Awareness, Utility, Routine, Alignment) came from the need for a minimal yet effective lifestyle companion that promotes awareness of tasks, balances daily routines, and aligns personal productivity with well-being.
🚀 What it does
AURA acts as a personal productivity and awareness hub where users can:
- Stay mindful of their routines and habits
- Organize tasks and utilities in a simple interface
- Build consistency while aligning their goals with their daily routine
In short, it’s a minimal life companion that encourages better self-organization.
🛠 How we built it
- Frontend: Pure HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (no frameworks)
- Hosting: Deployed on Vercel for easy access
- Design: Minimal, responsive UI with a focus on simplicity and usability
⚡ Challenges we ran into
- Working without frameworks meant reinventing common features from scratch (state management, responsiveness, animations).
- Managing layouts and interactivity purely in Vanilla JS.
- Keeping everything responsive while retaining the minimal aesthetic.
🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Building a fully functional project without frameworks.
- Designing a clean, modern, and lightweight interface.
- Completing the project within the hackathon timeline.
📚 What we learned
- How to work more effectively with Vanilla JavaScript for state and DOM manipulation.
- Deeper understanding of CSS layouts, responsiveness, and animations.
- The importance of balancing design simplicity with functionality.
🔮 What's next for AURA – Awareness, Utility, Routine, Alignment
- Add data persistence (local storage) so users don’t lose their tasks.
- Include more personalization features like themes and customization.
- Explore progress tracking and habit-building modules to make AURA more powerful.
