Inspiration

We have been creating augmented reality filters for more than 5 years and we have had a dream for a long time to be able to travel throughout Colombia and have all of our culture in augmented reality filters. We already have several projects that we created before and we continue with the task of being able to have all our culture in this new Ar technology

What it does

People will be able to go to the national museum, before entering they will be able to see the sculpture of the "Warrior" of ceramic representation from the National Museum of Bogotá in a position of the fight found in Narino Colombia and thus be able to detail everywhere and then they can go to see the original piece found inside the museum

How we built it

We use an application called polycam that is used with a cell phone, in this case an iPhone, to be able to create a digital twin of the sculpture, it is displayed in the National Museum of Colombia, then we put it in Blender to improve its textures. and the weight of 3d modeling. We use blender and create a riggin to create all the bones and animate the warrior sculpture

Challenges we ran into

One of the problems is that the sculpture is inside glass, so I didn't know if taking the photos and doing the photogrammetry would make the modeling look good, the reflections in the glass sometimes changed the result. prepare the modeling for the weight, this application results in a modeling with many polygons which is why it is very heavy, to reduce the weight it is complicated without losing its quality.

One of the challenges is that the museum is not close to our place of work and home, therefore we had to go to the Museum to be able to do the necessary tests and verify that everything is working correctly.

Accomplishments

In this Augmented exhibition, we will take a tour of the National Museum of Colombia, located in Bogotá. Here we will find several sculptures that are inside the National Museum, so that before entering the Museum, users can see this exhibition and in this way encourage them to enter the Museum and learn more about Colombian culture and history through art.

The main idea is that anyone who comes to the museum, whether national or foreign, can have an augmented reality experience before entering the museum, where the sculptures that you will find inside with this technology come to life and you can interact with them in real time. time. record a video, take a photograph and share a totally exceptional experience in the city of Bogotá.

In addition, by touching the sign you will access the National Museum website, where you will find all the information about events, schedules and exhibitions of the season.

What we learned

By traveling throughout Colombia we have learned that we cannot create a good digital twin for all objects, but we already know what type of materials and shapes are best to have a good digital twin. Augmented reality changed our lives a long time ago and with these programs we know that we can make Colombia a better place for all those who want to learn about our culture using new technologies.

What's next for Aumentando Colombia

2 years ago we have been traveling throughout Colombia to be able to have the largest number of scanned objects that are part of our culture, we are looking for people who want to help this beautiful project is to be able to have augmented reality filters throughout the country, we always go to several parties to give talks so that people know what augmented reality is and how it is changing the world. In the same way, we can share these AR filters with everyone and they can use them to learn about everything that Colombia has to offer, both for those of us who live here and for everyone who comes to Colombia to see it.

We are going to continue creating by scanning our entire culture and be able to have the best country with an increased reality in its cultural sphere.
