What it does
Dialectical engine bridges opposing sides
How we built it
Qloo api, js, web api
Challenges we ran into
- Qloo's joint taste signal leans toward whichever side is louder, so a "bridge" just echoed one audience. We fixed it by re-ranking every candidate against each side separately and scoring by the lower of the two.
- Insights returns at most 50 results per call, so we capped the candidate pool to keep every score real instead of guessed.
- Some anchors aren't accepted as a signal for some content types (HTTP 400). The agent now borrows that side's own top picks from a type that works and retries on its own.
- Mega-hits score high with every audience. A small popularity penalty keeps each bridge specific to the pair you typed.
- Free-text inputs are messy: "Rancid" matched a book called Rancid Aluminum. The agent re-searches across all types when the first match looks wrong.
