Inspiration:

We were inspired to create a solution for individuals with disabilities and visual impairments who struggle with accessing the internet. We wanted to create a tool that would allow them to browse the web hands-free and with ease.

What We Learned:

During our research, we discovered the extent of the issue and how it affects millions of people globally. We also learned about various technologies that could be utilized to solve this problem.

How We Built Our Project:

We combined computer vision and natural language processing techniques to develop a software that can detect a sign held up to the camera and then read the text on the screen. Integrating these technologies was a challenge, but through collaboration and innovative thinking, we were able to create a seamless user experience. Our team also collaborated with users who have disabilities to test and refine the software to make it user-friendly and accessible.

Challenges Faced:

One of the biggest challenges we faced was ensuring the accuracy of the software in detecting and reading text. Integrating various technologies was also difficult, but we were able to overcome these hurdles through persistent efforts and constant user feedback. Additionally, ensuring compatibility with different devices and screen sizes was also a challenge, but we were able to address it through careful planning and testing.

In conclusion, our project is a testament to the impact that technology can have in solving real-world problems and improving people's lives. We are proud of what we have created and look forward to continuing to improve and expand our solution.
