Inspiration

Our inspiration for AudioBridge stemmed from the realization that language barriers often limit the accessibility and impact of multimedia content. We aimed to create a solution that empowers individuals to transcend linguistic constraints and connect with a diverse range of video content.

What it does

AudioBridge is a web application that performs audio translation for videos. It converts video audio into user-specified languages, enhancing understanding and facilitating global communication. By seamlessly integrating audio translation, we bridge the gap between diverse languages and video content.

How we built it

  1. Convert Video to Audio: Extract audio from the original video file.
  2. Convert Audio to Subtitles: Transcribe audio into textual subtitles.
  3. Translate Subtitles to the Required Language: Translate subtitles into the desired target language.
  4. Updated Subtitles to Audio: Synchronize translated subtitles with the original audio.
  5. Adding Back to the Video: Overlay synchronized subtitles onto the video frames.
  6. Match Frequency and Pitch (Voice Matching): Adjust translated audio to resemble the original speaker's voice.

Challenges we ran into

We had a problem on mapping audio files as a sentence in one language can take longer times in other languages while speaking.

What we learned
