Inspiration
We wanted to hack with fun communication tech.
What it does
Transmits unidirectional or bidirectional audio steams via base64 encoded audio shared as constantly updating text in a Google doc.
How we built it
All in python. Encoding is native and we used Pyaudio and selenium to do the audio handling and browser automation.
Challenges we ran into
Google docs is bounding our latency.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our audio steam is understandable.
What we learned
Audio is hard but fulfilling.
What's next for audio-text-tx
Maybe some more work on getting the stream delay down.
