Overview
This is a basic audio amplifier that takes an input from a smartphone via an audio jack, amplifies its strength and outputs it to a connected speaker. There is also a current amplifier chip which ensures there is enough to power the speaker.
How I built it
After learning the theory behind the circuit I calculated the required cut-off frequencies to create a band-pass filter with a gain of approximately 7.7dB with the cut-off in the range of 23Hz to 30kHz .
What I learned
- How bias voltages can be used to predetermine operating conditions for electronic components within a circuit
- That decoupling capacitors are required to reduce noise within a circuit
- How to create a clean and tidy PCB design
Built With
- opa551-current-amplifier
- tl071-operational-amplifier
