Inspiration
when I wanted to host my event at school, I was quite disheartened realizing the fact that there are no public auctioning systems that people can use for auctions. This was an influential moment for me as "Physically" hosting a live auction at my event would take an hour, I felt like it was a waste of time. This is what mainly inspired me to make this project in the first place so that no one ever feels like their event will waste participants' time.
What it does
The auctioneer system runs parallelly to the main event that takes place, this is done to save event time for the organizer. The organizer can simply queue the items that are being auctioned in the admin panel. Additionally, the organizer can set an individual budget for all the users in the auction (so that it is more personalized and set in line with the event). As the auction begins, the users can begin bidding on items that they like, after an auction is done the sale history and the maximum bid are stored in the database.
How we built it
I mainly used javascript HTML and CSS using the realtime database service offered by firebase
Challenges we ran into
There were many errors in the coding stage of the project, but I am very elated that I was able to rectify these very issues
