Inspiration
Our inspiration comes from Salvador’s unique Afro-diasporic imagination — especially the spiritual, sonic, and visual universe of paredão street parties, where pagodão (a genre born in our city) becomes a living expression of Black freedom, community, rhythm, and ancestral presence.
This music video was originally created as the opening 3-track visual block for the new ÀTTØØXXÁ live tour, premiered at Afropunk Bahia 2025, and later evolved into its own standalone cinematic piece. It reflects the cosmic, spiritual, and urban mythology of Salvador, merging symbolic archetypes of Black Brazilian identity with surrealist visual language shaped through generative AI.
What it does
This project translates the energy of Salvador’s pagodão culture into a cosmic visual journey.
It blends local street aesthetics, Afro-diasporic iconography, ancestral spirituality, and contemporary Black Brazilian futurism into a unified cinematic experience that sets the tone for ÀTTØØXXÁ’s new stage narrative.
How we built it
The video was created by Zamba Studio Team — Bruno Zambelli (director), Nestor Carrera, and Pedro Cafezeiro — three AI-driven creators crafting every layer collaboratively.
We combined multiple generative-AI pipelines for imagery, animation, upscale, lipsync, and compositing, refining texture, realism, phenotypes, costumes, and cultural elements to honor Salvador’s identity.
Every frame was designed to align with the visual universe Bruno already develops for ÀTTØØXXÁ, now expanded into a 2025 cosmic-surrealist aesthetic.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenge was unifying all textures, characters, symbols, and Salvador-specific phenotypes into a coherent cinematic language while pushing current AI models to their limits.
Maintaining cultural authenticity — accessories, hairstyles, skin tones, clothing references, and local spiritual elements — demanded meticulous iteration across multiple tools.
Balancing realism, surrealism, and narrative cohesion within a single visual block also required constant fine-tuning.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- We achieved a hybrid visual identity that feels both grounded in Salvador’s culture and expansively futuristic.
- We created a work that stands on its own artistically while also expanding ÀTTØØXXÁ’s evolving visual canon.
- This piece marks a step forward in integrating Afro-Brazilian aesthetics into high-end generative-AI cinematics.
What we learned
We deepened our understanding of cross-model workflows, advanced lipsync, upscaling pipelines, and multi-stage compositing for generative video.
We also learned how to preserve cultural specificity inside AI-generated visuals — a challenge that requires both technical precision and cultural sensitivity.
What’s next for ÀTTØØXXÁ – Os Cara da Nasa / Tranca Rua / BLVCK BVNG (MV)
This visual block premiered live at Afropunk Bahia 2025 during the debut of the new ÀTTØØXXÁ tour.
Next, we will refine and expand all materials to complete the remaining visual chapters that will accompany the full tour experience.
