Inspiration
Many have found themselves in this familiar scenario during a flight: the cabin enveloped in darkness, a thirst for water, yet no flight attendant in sight. Numerous passengers encounter challenges when trying to communicate with the cabin crew for various reasons. Some may hesitate to disturb those nearby, others may feel reluctant to bother flight attendants with seemingly trivial inquiries, while some simply find it difficult to articulate their needs.
What it does
This project introduces a cutting-edge QnA bot designed to enhance users' in-flight experiences significantly. The bot offers valuable information, such as estimated restroom wait times and real-time updates on food and beverage inventory, ensuring a seamless and informed travel experience for users.
How we built it
The front end was built with React Native and Expo, which makes REST calls to a fast API wrapper around the Mistral model.
Challenges we ran into
We embarked on a journey of mastering React Native, a technology that was novel to us. Our dedicated efforts and substantial time investment were dedicated to acquiring proficiency in this innovative framework.

The next phase may involve the implementation of more sophisticated user interfaces and distinct versions of the app tailored for both passengers and flight attendants. Further enhancements could include configuring the app to automatically alert the flight attendant whenever the AI encounters uncertainty or ambiguity in decision-making.
