] Inspiration: Attendance is more than just a percentage. A student at 68% needs attention, but simply displaying 68% doesn't tell a teacher what to do next.We built AttendIQ to turn ordinary attendance data into actionable intelligence—helping colleges track attendance, identify at-risk students, and make faster decisions. Our goal was simple: Track. Analyze. Improve Attendance.
] What it does: AttendIQ is a smart attendance platform for students and teachers. 📊 Tracks overall and subject-wise attendance 👩🏫 Lets teachers mark and manage attendance 📈 Shows attendance history and analytics 🚨 Identifies students below the 75% threshold 🛡️ Assigns Low, Medium, or High attendance risk 🤖 Exposes attendance.analyze as a SharedOS service that agents can invoke for structured attendance analysis So instead of just asking “What is the attendance?”, AttendIQ helps answer “Who needs attention?”
] How I built it: We built AttendIQ using:
React • TypeScript • TanStack • Vite • Firebase • SharedOS • Cloudflare Workers The core system manages attendance records and calculates attendance percentages. We then created the SharedOS service: attendance.analyze It accepts student attendance data and returns: Overall attendance At-risk students Risk levels Attendance statistics Actionable observations We implemented SharedOS authorization, exposed the service through an HTTP API, deployed it to Cloudflare, and successfully tested the live production service.
] Challenges I ran into: The biggest challenge was turning a normal attendance feature into a proper SharedOS service. We had to understand: Tool registration Capability-based authorization Request contracts Agent/service context Trace IDs Production deployment Our first API requests failed because of authorization and request-contract issues. Debugging these taught us how SharedOS actually handles secure service invocation—and we eventually got the production service to return succeeded. 🚀
] Accomplishments that I'm proud of: We're proud that AttendIQ is more than a dashboard. ✨ A working attendance platform ✨ A dedicated attendance intelligence layer ✨ A callable attendance.analyze SharedOS service ✨ Capability-controlled service access ✨ Live Cloudflare deployment ✨ Successful production SharedOS invocation Most importantly, we turned attendance data into a reusable service that an agent can understand and use.
] What I learned: This project taught us that building an agent-ready service requires more than writing an API. We learned about service contracts, capability-based access, authorization, structured outputs, debugging distributed requests, and production testing. Most importantly, we learned to focus on one meaningful capability and make it actually work end-to-end.
] What's next for AttendIQ: Today, AttendIQ answers: “Who is at risk?” Next, we want it to answer: “What should happen next?” Future plans include: 🔮 Attendance prediction 💡 Personalized recommendations 🤖 Agent-powered academic workflows 📩 Smart attendance notifications 📊 Institution-level analytics 🔗 More SharedOS services such as attendance.predict and attendance.recommend Our vision: turn AttendIQ from an attendance tracker into an agent-powered academic intelligence platform. 🚀
