Inspiration
Inspired by having to record attendance for a recitation that I teach and finding it painful to sort through an excel spreadsheet and mark each one present.
What it does
Allows students to sign into class by tapping their student ID and using their unique RFID tag to tall the database that they are present.
How I built it
By using a raspberry pi outfitted with an RFID sensor that communicates with our database and frontend.
Challenges I ran into
Just about everything. Especially with the hardware.
What's next for Attendance Buddy
More options and customization for other applications such as a time clock for employees.
