Inspiration
Job searching can be a frustrating and opaque process. Many qualified candidates are automatically rejected by Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) simply because their resumes lack the right formatting or targeted keywords. We wanted to bridge that gap by building a smart, transparent tool that gives job seekers an edge.
What it does
The ATS Resume Scorer is an AI-powered platform that analyzes resumes against specific job descriptions. It provides an intelligent matching score, highlights missing keywords, tracks historical analyses, and features Microsoft AI Foundry integration to deliver precise, actionable feedback.
How we built it
We built the project using a modern tech stack focused on reliability and intelligence. The core reasoning and matching engine rely on Microsoft AI Foundry integration, paired with robust backend data handling to track past submissions and historical analysis metrics.
Challenges we ran into
Fine-tuning the prompt logic to ensure accurate keyword extraction and scoring consistency across varied resume layouts and unstructured text formats was a significant hurdle. We solved this by refining our parsing pipelines and leveraging advanced AI orchestration.
What we learned
We deepened our understanding of intelligent document processing, prompt engineering, and how to build responsive user experiences that turn complex data analytics into clear, actionable advice for job seekers.
