Inspiration
As seniors, we decided to try something fun to do for our last year here at Bronx Science. We've really liked 2D games since we were young, hence, we created our own version of Mario.
What it does
Plays through different levels by moving the character to Sans checkpoints. Avoid the snakes though!
How I built it
Using Unity, we were able to construct the gaming grounds that the player will move in, as well as the placement of different materials. Then, we used C# to write a program that is able to help move the character, camera, and enemies along with the game.
Challenges I ran into
Animations were difficult to produce alongside attack features.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The ability to move the player in a smooth manner (moving animations, speed and jump speed of the player)
What I learned
How to format different levels, planning structure and being able to use GitHub to communicate with everyone.
What's next for Mario But Edgier
Next steps would be to develop a multiplayer experience over different platforms.
