Inspiration

The Covid-19 pandemic has already impacted our life and way of working in a big way. Globally we are practicing social distancing norms and this is predicted to continue in near future as well. Employees of companies, big or small are forced to do work from home and challenge now is how to go back to office. This is exactly what inspired us to make EmployeeSafe App.This app has cool features like "Smart Seat Allocation" and a robust backend to process real-time health data of employees to ensure, social distance in office as well. The solution has a flexible design to manage medium and large corporations with provisions to accomodate local Health & Safety regulations.

What it does

Why should we use EmployeeSafe App? • The app provides out of box solutions that enable organizations to keep their employees safe in office environment. • Features like smart seat allocation enables the employees to keep a safe distance at the work place. • It enables managers to keep track of the employees who requested for attending office on a day, and approve or reject the same. • The app has useful services like real-time notifications, tracking an employee's health status and identify the risk groups. • It covers tracking of most of the important facets in enabling business continuity. • The reporting services within the application provides useful information and statistics to enable optimal utilisation of workplace spaces in the organisation.

How I built it

The mockup of the application is created using invision & pages are designed using sketch/lunacy. In the iteration a hybrid app built using Ionic 2 Framework. Angular JS and Bootstrap framework will be used to build frontend logic. micorservices to be used for service layer using springboot framework. For the secure data storage MySQL Database will be used.

Challenges I ran into

Team Collaboration was a challenge due to virtual working, but digital tools provided by Hackathon organisers enabled us to connect and conceptualize this brilliant product

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

EmployeeSafe App helps in addressing the anxiety of employees to go back to office environments. With the development of this app we are confident to provide confidence for bot employees and employers to manage the situation in office spaces. Also it will help managers to keep a fine balance between employees at office and those working from home.

What I learned

In these challenging times brilliant minds can collaborate and come up with smart solutions within a short time to meet Hackathon tight timelines

What's next for ATOM_vs_Virus

We would love to take this concept to the next level where prototyping and further design and devlopment will help to evolve this idea into a product which can be used by companies and businesses alike. We keep Data security & Scalability aspects as the most important design element. The goal is to make this product available in SaaS platform which helps employees & business easily procure the service and rollout within a short period. In the long run concept also helps businesses to benefit from savings of encouraging more of its employees working from home and utilize office spaces optimally.
