Inspiration

I failed my IGCSE exams. Not because I didn't study — but because I never truly understood my mistakes. After the results, I had no way to know what went wrong, why it went wrong, or how to fix it. That frustration became the foundation of Atlas. Millions of students across the world and the
problem: they study hard, take exams, and get a grade — but receive no actionable feedback. No personalized guidance. No roadmap to improve. I built Atlas to change that.

What it does

Atlas allows teachers to upload PDF curricula and automatically generates custom exams tailored to the material. Students take the exam, and Atlas auto-grades their responses and delivers personalized performance recommendations — showing exactly what they got wrong, why, and how to improve and help them in revision.

How we built it

Built with React, Node.js, and MongoDB. AI powered by Claude API and Gemini API for exam generation, grading, and feedback. Deployed on Google Cloud.

Challenges we ran into

Building as a solo developer with no prior experience shipping a full SaaS product. Learning to balance speed with quality while keeping the product focused on real student needs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Turning a personal failure into a product that could help thousands of students avoid the same experience.

What we learned

That the best products come from real pain — not from trends.

What's next for Atlas

Expand beyond Egypt to serve students globally across all curricula — IGCSE, A-Level, SAT, Baccalaureate, and local national curriculums. Add support for more subjects and exam formats. Launch a mobile app for on-the-go revision. Build a school dashboard so teachers can track entire classrooms — not just individual students.

The long-term vision is a fully personalized AI tutor for every student, regardless of where they are, what curriculum they follow, or what they can afford.
