Inspiration

We kept coming back to one question: What if people could actually see where their impact becomes real?

Millions of people want to contribute to meaningful change, yet impact can feel distant, fragmented, and difficult to verify. Projects exist across communities, nonprofits, environmental initiatives, and local infrastructure, but the connection between people, action, evidence, and outcomes is often invisible.

Atlas Sanctum was inspired by the idea that a smartphone could become more than a communication device. It could become a window into real-world change.

We wanted to create a mobile experience where people can discover meaningful projects, understand the evidence behind them, support them, and return to see what changed.

What it does

Atlas Sanctum is a mobile impact intelligence experience that helps users discover, understand, support, and track real-world impact.

Users can explore verified projects, view project progress and community outcomes, understand where an initiative is located, and see measurable impact in a simple mobile experience.

The app brings together:

  • Discover: Explore projects across water, nature, community, and other impact areas.
  • Understand: See the problem, intervention, evidence, progress, and outcomes behind a project.
  • Atlas AI: Ask questions about projects and receive contextual insights.
  • Support: Take meaningful action through the app.
  • My Impact: Track supported projects, communities reached, and verified outcomes.
  • Notifications: Return to Atlas as projects evolve and new impact information becomes available.

The larger Atlas Sanctum vision is to connect people, communities, organizations, capital, evidence, and intelligence through a shared impact ecosystem.

How we built it

Atlas Sanctum is designed as a React Native mobile application, giving us a cross-platform foundation for iOS and Android.

We designed the experience around a simple mobile flow:

Discover → Explore → Understand → Act → Track

The product architecture is designed to support an impact data layer, AI-powered intelligence, project information, evidence, notifications, and monetization.

We integrated RevenueCat as part of the app's monetization strategy, allowing premium experiences to be delivered through subscriptions or purchases.

The architecture intentionally separates the simplicity of the mobile interface from the complexity of the intelligence behind it. The goal is for users to experience a fast, intuitive app while Atlas can grow into a much larger platform for impact intelligence and verification.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was scope.

Atlas Sanctum started as a much larger vision involving environmental intelligence, verification infrastructure, AI, regenerative finance, communities, and planetary-scale data. Trying to put all of that into a hackathon application would have produced a complicated product instead of a compelling one.

We had to learn how to compress a large systems vision into a small number of mobile interactions.

Another challenge was designing an experience that communicated trust and measurable impact without overwhelming users with technical details.

We also had to balance three goals:

social impact, product quality, and sustainable monetization.

The app needed to feel useful and human first, while still demonstrating that it could become a viable business.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that Atlas Sanctum turned a large regenerative infrastructure concept into a focused mobile experience.

We created a product direction where a user can go from:

“What can I do?”

to

“Show me something meaningful.”

to

“Help me understand it.”

to

“I want to support it.”

to

“Show me what changed.”

We're especially proud of the My Impact concept because it transforms impact from a one-time transaction into an ongoing relationship.

We're also proud of designing Atlas as something that can grow beyond the hackathon. The mobile app is intentionally the beginning of a larger ecosystem rather than a dead-end prototype.

What we learned

We learned that a big vision becomes much more powerful when it can be expressed through a single, understandable user journey.

We also learned that impact products need to communicate trust without creating friction. Users shouldn't need to understand databases, verification infrastructure, AI orchestration, or environmental intelligence to understand why an action matters.

The technology should disappear into the experience.

Most importantly, we learned that impact itself can become a product experience. When users can discover something meaningful, see evidence, take action, and return to witness progress, social good becomes tangible rather than abstract.

What's next for Atlas Sanctum

The hackathon app is the first doorway into a much larger Atlas Sanctum ecosystem.

Next, we want to expand:

Atlas AI for deeper project intelligence and personalized recommendations.

Impact verification for stronger evidence, geospatial data, field reporting, and transparent outcomes.

Community tools that allow people and organizations to participate directly in local initiatives.

Environmental intelligence connecting projects with biodiversity, climate, water, and ecosystem data.

Impact portfolios that allow users and organizations to track their long-term contribution.

Institutional infrastructure for nonprofits, funders, governments, and organizations managing larger impact portfolios.

Our long-term vision is simple:

Make it easier to see where resources go, understand what happens, and measure what changes.

Atlas Sanctum begins with a mobile app.

The destination is a global network for verified regenerative impact.
