Inspiration - A few of our family members suffer from blindness. We wanted to help them but in a cost-efficient way. We incorporated ideas relating to AI as well as sustainable material.
What it does? - Our product uses a camera and analyzes objects and identifies them for the user. It provides a verbal description of their surroundings and provides safety as well.
How we built it - We identified problems that blind people suffer from and found potential solutions. We attempted to incorporate it into our technology and make it cost-friendly for those who can't afford $2,000 products.
Challenges we ran into - finding materials, finding cost-effective hardware, designing something that was ideal for users
Accomplishments that we're proud of - working together and using everyones strengths, we were able to create a logical solution and create a potential product to release in the future.
What we learned - We learned to work together and leverage everyone's strengths we developed presentation skills, and how/who to ask for help from
What's next for ATICA - we may develop an app to teach the camera how to identify people's faces (specifically family members/friends), and make this a worldwide operation adaptable for ages of all sorts.
