Inspiration Athletes generate valuable performance data, yet lack control and fair compensation for sharing it. We wanted to create a platform that gives them full ownership and enables them to profit from their insights securely.

What it does AthLedger is a blockchain-based platform where athletes store, control, and monetize their performance data. Athletes can securely share verified data with authorized companies, including teams, scouts, and medical staff, via a private marketplace. A recommendation system helps companies discover relevant data at a fair price, and athletes can explore potential company partnerships through a built-in search feature.

How we built it Using blockchain technology, we developed a secure, transparent, and decentralized platform. Smart contracts handle permissions and automated payments, while a private marketplace with a recommendation system optimizes the data discovery process for companies.

Challenges we ran into As a team with no prior blockchain experience, we faced a steep learning curve—understanding blockchain fundamentals, developing secure smart contracts, and implementing a decentralized permission system were all challenging. Structuring data for our recommendation system in the marketplace also required careful design and testing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of We’re proud of mastering blockchain from the ground up, building a user-centric platform where athletes truly control their data, and developing a marketplace that fairly values athlete insights. Creating the recommendation system to enhance the data-buying experience was another significant achievement.

What we learned We gained practical experience with blockchain technology, smart contracts, and decentralized data management. We also deepened our understanding of data marketplaces, recommendation systems, and the balance between security and usability.

What's next for AthLedger We aim to enhance the marketplace with advanced data analytics and increase partnerships with sports organizations to boost adoption. We’re also exploring new blockchain technologies to improve privacy, scalability, and performance for our users.
