Inspiration

I was inspired by the deep creativity of many engineers utilizing the power of LLM's in order to create incredible pieces of software. As someone who is studious and have struggled in other courses, being able to have a personal tutor in order to monitor and increase my growth was vital, and a pivotal part of my inspiration.

What it does

After looging in and joining the discord, the user will meet a very minimalist prompt in which the AI (Chat GPT 3.5) asks the user a question. If the user answers the question correctly, they solve harder and harder questions. If the answer is wrong, the user would have to solve some sort of variant where GPT offers advice on how to solve the problem.

How I built it

I used a new React framework called, Next.js in order to build the website, and the eventual GPT calls using Typescript. Majority of the ui is built in typescript.

Challenges we ran into

This was the first project in which I just typescript and javascript so it proved to be quite the challenge, especially merging and testing the quality of the backend systems.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am very happy with building a aesthically pleasing frontend with technology that I am not familiar with.

What we learned

Learned how to use Next.js for bigger projects as well as typescript

What's next for Athena

To use the GPT model and different prompts to create multiple tutors for different subjects.
