Inspiration

Indian startups often manage GST, MCA, filing deadlines, documents, and audit proof across spreadsheets, calendars, and disconnected PDFs. We wanted to make compliance proactive instead of stressful and reactive.

## What it does

AstraComply is an AI-powered compliance operating system for Indian companies. It maps company details to relevant obligations, tracks deadlines, shows risk signals, organizes compliance documents, provides grounded AI assistance, and maintains an audit trail.

## How we built it

We built AstraComply as a full-stack web application with a compliance rules engine, dashboard, document vault, risk engine, AI assistant, and audit trail. We used Codex and GPT‑5.6 to accelerate implementation, integrations, testing, iteration, and demo production.

## Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was turning complex, changing compliance requirements into a workflow that feels simple for founders and finance teams. We also focused on making AI responses useful and grounded in company context rather than generic advice.

## Accomplishments that we're proud of

• A working end-to-end compliance workflow, not just a chatbot.
• Clear risk and deadline visibility for real compliance operations.

• A polished product experience with a real interactive dashboard, risk simulation, AI assistant, and audit trail.

## What we learned

We learned that AI is most valuable when it is connected to structured company context, deterministic rules, and clear actions. We also learned how much Codex can accelerate full- stack product development when used across implementation, debugging, testing, and iteration.

## What's next for AstraComply

Next, we plan to expand coverage across more Indian regulations, add automated reminders and task workflows, improve document extraction, support collaboration across finance and legal teams, and integrate directly with accounting and filing systems.
