Inspiration
I love stargazing and I always thought it would be convenient to actively visualize sky and weather data from my browser toolbar. It is a very useful and easy tool to quickly glance at the visibility for observing.
What it does
It is a Chrome extension which enables users to view a clear sky forecast with just two clicks.
How we built it
We used JavaScript and HTML to create the extension.
Challenges we ran into
Trying to get the chart to load properly was a challenge. Before I struggled with a broken image instead of the chart. Now we can actually see the chart and it works as intended.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This was my first time making a Google chrome extension and it was a fun little project!
What we learned
I learned how to make a Chrome extension and I learned some JavaScript to do this.
What's next for Astronomy Clear Sky Forecast Plugin
I would like to add interactive features for the chart and make a better, fancier visual interface. Including some more details on the weather would be nice too and if there is a chance to change the region so users in other places can use this extension as well.
