Inspiration

Space fascinates us, but it also represents a silent threat. I wanted to bridge the gap between cold astronomical data and human reality. The inspiration came from the need to make "Planetary Defense" tangible by visualizing the actual impact of an asteroid on our cities and our lives.

What it does

AstroMeteor Seer is a high-precision web platform that simulates the consequences of an asteroid impact on any given city. Powered by Gemini 3, it generates detailed destruction scenarios (collapse of famous landmarks, shockwaves) and provides an immersive audio narration of the event. It also analyzes socio-economic fallout and identifies "non-hazardous" asteroids that could actually strike sooner than anticipated.

How we built it

The application is built on a modern web architecture with Google AI Studio, framework React, and Typescript, integrating NASA’s CNEOS API for real-time spatial data. The analytical core and voice synthesis are handled by the Gemini 3 multimodal model. Mapping visualizations translate physical equations into visual impact zones, while the interface was optimized to ensure maximum fluidity despite the heavy computational load.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was translating complex celestial mechanics into an intuitive user interface. Optimizing loading times during the simultaneous generation of data analysis and AI audio narration in the browser also required rigorous web performance management.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of successfully integrating Gemini 3 to create a truly multimodal experience where the AI doesn't just calculate—it tells a story. Including advanced scientific details like the Yarkovsky effect and socio-economic impact analysis gives the project credibility that goes beyond a simple visual simulator.

What we learned

This project was a catalyst for mastering multimodal AI and high-level Prompt Engineering. I acquired deep skills in spatial data processing via APIs and impact physics. Finally, I learned the importance of web optimization to maintain a seamless experience when using heavy AI models.

What's next for Astrometeor seer

The next step is to integrate a real-time global alert system and develop a mobile app version using Flutter. I also plan to add a collaborative mode allowing crisis management experts to simulate evacuation plans based on AI-driven analytics.
