Astro AI Guard was inspired by the need to make space missions safer and more reliable using Artificial Intelligence. Satellites and spacecraft generate huge amounts of data that are difficult to monitor manually. Our goal was to build an AI-powered system that can detect anomalies, predict risks, and provide real-time alerts to support faster decision-making.
What it does
Astro AI Guard continuously analyzes space mission data and identifies unusual patterns or potential failures. It provides real-time alerts, predicts possible risks, and displays mission health through an interactive dashboard. This helps improve mission safety, reduce response time, and increase operational efficiency.
How we built it
We developed the project using Python and machine learning techniques for anomaly detection. The frontend was created with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, while the backend handled data processing and AI predictions. We integrated the components into a simple and user-friendly dashboard for monitoring and visualization.
Challenges we faced
- Collecting and preparing space-related datasets.
- Improving the accuracy of AI predictions.
- Integrating the frontend with the backend.
- Optimizing the system for faster real-time analysis.
What we learned
Through this project, we learned about Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, data preprocessing, anomaly detection, web development, teamwork, and problem-solving. We also gained experience in building real-world AI applications.
Future Improvements
- Integrate live satellite and ISRO/NASA data streams.
- Improve prediction accuracy with advanced deep learning models.
- Add multilingual support and voice-based alerts.
- Deploy the application on the cloud for global accessibility.
Conclusion
Astro AI Guard demonstrates how AI can improve space mission safety by providing intelligent monitoring, early risk detection, and real-time decision support. It is a scalable solution that can be enhanced for future space exploration and satellite monitoring systems.
