Inspiration

I was inspired by the family friendly 8-bit games of the late 80s and early 90s. I love cats myself and wanted to find a way to incorporate them into my 8-bit themed piece. Ultimately, I had thought it would be cool to challenge myself and create something completely out of my comfort zone, like nothing I've tried before!

How I built it

Using a free photoshop alternative, by the name of Pixlr, I was able to design and draw out my idea for the piece, pixel by pixel.

Challenges I ran into

I ran into a few obstacles with the software, because of issues with lag and having limited saving capacity for files. But, for the most part, it was smooth sailing.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud of the fact that I decided to try doing an art technique I've never tried before and that I was able to create something that I think is pretty cool :)

What I learned

I learned to look at the process of digital art with patience, as I had to restart many of the aspects to get them to look how I wanted them to. I also learned that I can change the brush size on photo-editing software to 1 pixel size and use that to create a realistic pixelated drawing.
